Over the next nine weeks, Western Sydney will host more than six major events including Kidtopia, AUS-X Open, the inaugural MotorWorld Sydney, World Time Attack Challenge, NSW Golf Championships and Coates Hire Sydney 500.

“More people than ever before are coming to Western Sydney to enjoy the wealth of attractions, world-class restaurants and jam packed major events calendar set amongst the unique flora and fauna,” said Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events, Stuart Ayres,  “From free outdoor family events like Kidtopia at Parramatta Park to the chance to ride the Western Sydney wave at Wet’n’Wild Prospect, there really is something for everyone to enjoy.”

For the motorsports enthusiast

  • World Time Attack Challenge: Friday 14 and Saturday 15 October

arl38021.jpgMotorsport lovers can enjoy two days of non-stop, high adrenaline, racing action at Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek as international teams compete for the quickest lap time.

  • AUS-X Open: Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 November

  • MotorWorld Sydney: Thursday 1 to Sunday 4 December

Visitors will be able to test drive their favourite cars, compare brands and models, or enjoy live vehicle demonstrations at Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek. With a dedicated Family Zone, parents can drop kids at the professional child-minding centre to enjoy the event uninterrupted

  • Coates Hire Sydney 500: Friday 2 to Sunday 4 December

The streets of Sydney Olympic Park will come alive over three days for the V8 Supercars grand finale. Ford, Nissan, Holden, and Volvo will go head to head to compete for the 2016 Championship.

Family Fun

  • Kidtopia: Friday 7 to Sunday 9 October

Highlights include a human size foosball game, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry tribute show, science masterclasses, amusement rides, giant inflatable obstacle course, theatre shows, and live music.

  • NSW Open Golf Championships: Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 November

00103667-homepageimage.jpgIn 2016 NSW Open Golf Championships will return to the Greg Norman-designed 18 hole Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club in Colebee. Visitors can walk the fairways behind some of Australia’s best golf players. Purchase tickets directly on the day at the gate.

Getting there and staying there

For visitors planning a weekend getaway in Western Sydney, accommodation caters for families, groups, and couples.   There are a range of serviced apartments and centrally located hotels such as Novotel Sydney Parramatta, Quest Liverpool, Autra Blacktown, PARKROYAL Parramatta or Mercure Sydney Parramatta.

Western Sydney is easily accessed from Central Train station. Visitors can also take the scenic route by catching the ferry from Circular Quay along the Parramatta River.
