The 2017 Savour Australia™ Restaurant & Catering Hostplus National Awards for Excellence, celebrating the achievements of Australia’s finest hospitality businesses, were held at Melbourne’s Peninsula yesterday, 30 October 2017.

Mures Tasmania were honoured as recipients of two National Awards

Mures Upper Deck, Seafood Restaurant – Formal (SILVER)

PEARL + CO, Café Dining (SILVER)

Owners and Restaurant and Catering Australia (R&CA) members, Will Mure and Jude Mure were present to accept the awards and said “We are very pleased and humbled to be honoured with these awards by this panel of industry influencers who understand the challenges and opportunities facing businesses today.

Mures are one of the few 100% vertically integrated businesses in Australia, who catches, cleans and cooks their own fish. Started in 1973 by George and Jill Mure and now headed up by their son Will and his wife Jude, today Mures Tasmania, incorporates a 23 metre longline vessel; a fish processing factory including a fishmonger outlet, in Cambridge, Tasmania and three award winning seafood restaurants (Mures Upper Deck, Mures Lower Deck, PEARL + CO) and a second fishmonger at Mures Fish Centre on the Hobart waterfront.

The Savour Australia Awards for Excellence is a nationally recognised, independently judged awards program of Cafés, restaurants and catering businesses, across Australia, demonstrating exceptional service, culinary excellence and value for money across 41 different categories.

The award winners from each category are determined by individual judges trained in the Restaurant and Catering Evaluation System (RACES) program.
