WA’s most glamorous sport and social event, the Airnorth Cable Beach Polo, will take centre stage on Broome’s famous white sands when it makes a spectacular return to the town this year. Now celebrating eight years, the three-day festival will be held from Friday 25 May to Sunday 27 May.
Competing for the coveted Paspaley Australasian Beach Polo Cup are three teams featuring some of Western Australia’s most accomplished players, with the announcement of Perrier-Jouet as official champagne partner.

Airnorth Cable Beach Polo Producer, Marilynne Paspaley AM, promises the competition will be fierce this year with the players in fine form, having experienced Cable Beach Polo in the past.
“Our players are really spirited and have gathered competitive knowledge about playing on Cable Beach right down to the most minute detail, including which ponies to bring and how to get the edge on our immaculate playing conditions,” Ms Paspaley said.
“Due to the large Broome tides the sand on Cable Beach is compacted naturally forming a firm but giving surface ideal for a vigorous polo game with fast-moving ponies and ball.”
“This year will be a nail biting tournament and a rare and highly entertaining sporting experience.”
Set in one of the most far-flung and exotic destinations in the world, the event has become an annual drawcard for people in Australia and all around the globe.

Following an opening party on Friday evening at The Mangrove Hotel, Saturday will feature the match qualifiers before the teams return to the sands on Sunday to compete for the Broome Cup and the Paspaley Australasian Beach Polo Cup.
For the first time this year Airnorth Cable Beach Polo welcomes official champagne partner Perrier-Jouet whose Grand Brut will flow in the premium VIP marquee to provide the ultimate lavish experience for guests.
Spectators keen to experience the full Airnorth Cable Beach Polo three-day VIP treatment can opt for the Platinum Passport, which includes special invitations to the Paspaley cocktail party, access to the VIP marquee on the Saturday and Sunday and an invitation to Saturday’s Dinner Under the Stars.
