Panama “Snow” House: Bondi’s new Winter Wonderland
Home » Panama “Snow” House: Bondi’s new Winter Wonderland
The launch of Panama Snow House saw the gathering of Sydney socialites as the beach icon transformed into an après-ski winter wonderland. Overhanging winter gear and skis, snow crystals, a roaring log fire wall projection and Christmas tree set the tone of the pop-up which runs until 28th July in conjunction with themed events to mark the season.
To keep guests toasty warm Canadian Club hot toddies and mulled wine were served, and – to warm tummies – street eats from Mexico were on offer, with a bit of chilli heat.
Head Chef Ben Fitton (former chef for Rod Stewart, Jerry Seinfeld, Baz Luhrmann and the King of Spain) kept the crowds happy, with a stream of tastebud-tingling pulled pork empanadas with chipotle sauce, luxe corn on the cob and mini salmon ceviche tostadas while a queue formed at the kitchen for the Mexican cheese fondue dish known as queso fundido.
Guests included The Voice’s Jack Vidgen who was fresh from announcing his Oxford Art Factory gig coming up in September.
They were among the appreciative après crowd looking for a warm reception, and comforting food and drinks, while enjoying views across Bondi Beach, including an LED rainbow-hued Ferris Wheel on the beach, while enjoying a relatively mild winter’s night.
In January, after five years on Bondi Road, Panama House relocated to its new beachfront premises on Campbell Parade. While the laid-back vibe remains the same, it isn’t just the address which has changed, it is now a venue for all seasons. The Panama “Snow” House event launched a fun winter season of events.
