As the home of independent music, it was inevitable TNR partner with Songwriters Lounge and a number of our sponsors to bring some life to the music scene during Melbourne Lockdown 6.0 and Sydney’s 7th week of stay at home orders.

It was meant to be a celebration for the planned end of Melbourne lockdown this evening, which we know now has been again extended… Hosted by our own Melbourne based Music Editor, Jordan Bakker, it’s an exciting opportunity for readers to finally see him in his element with friends and associates in this special event he produces.

From this kind of adversity many new original works and new releases have been born, evoking inspiration and capturing the perseverance to endure this extended and erratic periods of uncertainty across the country. As such, many of the announcements we made with show openings in the 2020 Theatre season, RNB Fridays, Brisbane Comedy festival other live entertainment experiences have either been rescheduled, re-worked or cancelled all together.

The Songwriters Lounge Virtual Music Festival sends a universal message, that music can never stop playing. The sounds can never stop being heard and that our own creative mojo in keeps flowing regardless of lockdowns or restrictions.
