We covered his Annus Mirabilis 2018, and he’s been working with us for years consulting on many stories and events, so this is just a natural progression as we give him a new canvas to make that signature splash many in the Sydney social scene know him for.
Going forward, Christopher takes the lead on the direction of our Social Scene pages, and curating our monthly Movie Guide in addition to his exciting adventures around the city. It’s an exciting addition to the team. His cheery disposition and sparkle enhance the expanding conversation and stories on our team’s continual search for The Next Rush.
“This year was a year of first times for me” he says, “I attended a music festival, jumped out of a giant cake, was the recipient of a surprise birthday brunch, and took a cooking class.”
2019 has also been a landmark moment. You’d recognise Christopher Haggarty who fronted a national campaign across an outdoor advertising network of buses, telephone booths, tram stops and Val Morgan’s silverscreens.
“But my highlight of my 2019 so far was meeting Nat Kelly who played Crystal Carrington in my favourite show, Dynasty.”
2019 Highlights to date:
Courtesy of T1000 events, revellers experienced the very best local and international electronic music artists at Electric Gardens, across 4 massive stages, as part of a world-class production. Though there was some disappointment in the last minute withdrawal of Underworld, it still delivered with its headliner, Sigma; and for old school ravers and party animals, ultimate legacy act – Paul Van Dyk turned out to be more than just a band aid fix. They also recently announced that it would be coming back in 2020 in February rather than Australia Day – watch this space!
Sugar Republic is Australia’s first Insta-museum, celebrating iconic confectionery in a fun, inclusive experience. It’s a pop-up experience for sweet lovers. Their recent partnership with Myer flagship stores sees this uber cool pop-up working its way through Sydney, Melbourne and Gold Coast!
Little can go wrong at Dead Ringer when imaginative cocktails and an ever-changing wine menu are involved. It’s even better, when you’re surprised with a birthday brunch!
YouFoodz is all about making Australia healthier and happier, one bite and a time, and with their meal kits, although I was a little outside of my comfort zone, this pop-event was alot of fun!
Just like the New York style icon ‘Carrie Bradshaw’, you may have spotted our Lifestyle and Social Editor on one of the side of the city buses on your morning communte…
…or looking down on you from the heavens on one of his billboards….
…and up on the silverscreen…..
Dynasty is an institution that dominated the 80s and with its new re-boot series maintains its pull with a whole new generation. A great fan of the show, it was a treat bumping into Mrs Carrington at the Bulgari Apertivo Evening. She’s the face of luxury jewellery, me the face of bubble tea; it was an obvious connection.
