It’s a brand that sets the expectations in international travel and it recently enjoyed the commendations of the ‘Best Business Hotel Brand in the World” which was awarded at the 2019 Business Traveller Asia-Pacific Awards for the 15th time! 9 properties including Bangkok, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Macau, Melbourne, Shanghai, Saigon, Sydney and Tokyo were also voted “Best Business Hotel” Shortly before that, Seoul enjoyed recognition as ‘Best Meetings Hotel” at the Meetings & Conventions Asia’s Stella Awards.

Let’s jump straight into the suites at the newest properties that have opened in the last couple of weeks shall we?
Hyatt Regency Hesperia Madrid opened on October 2 with an energizing experience for business and leisure.
The hotel’s 169 rooms are bright and elegant, with 33 suites overlooking the impressive Paseo de la Castellana.
Top floor suites feature garden terraces and private hot tubs, where guests can enjoy exclusive views of the city.
Andaz Seoul Gangnam opened on September 9 and houses 241 contemporary and stylish guestrooms. The striking diagonal walls inspired by the asymmetric angles of bojagi patchwork complement the fluid layout and clean-lined furniture which provide a floating illusion. Guests looking to entertain may opt for one of two rooftop ‘hospitality suites’ spanning the entire seventeenth floor with private outdoor terraces overlooking Han River and the city. Hyatt Regency Zhuzhou opened on September 10 in the Hunan Province of Central China.
The new 246-room hotel aims to bring the Hyatt Regency brand’s stress-free environments for seamless gatherings and empathetic service to both business and leisure guests alike.
The hotel is situated on a scenic setting near the Xiangjiang River, offers 246 modern rooms ranging from 484 square feet (45 square-metre) to 2,475 square feet (230 square metres), including 21 Regency Suites, 9 Regency Executive Suites, 1 Premium Suite with a private terrace, and 1 Ambassador Suite on the top floor with a kitchen, reading room and large private terrace.
All guestrooms feature panoramic French windows with views of either the Xiangjiang River, golf course greenery or the city.
Hyatt Centric Mountain View opened on July 18 marking the first property in Silicon Valley.
Tech-forward décor pays homage to the area’s history as the birthplace of modern technology. Locally inspired art references Silicon Valley’s storied innovation — a dramatic installation in the lobby, for example, is rendered with hundreds of mini pocket compasses and a neon depiction of the periodic symbol for silicon.
A cozy lounge by the bar features metal panels with an interactive QR code motif as well as wall art composed of classic Atari games and other creative memorabilia. Multi-media pieces created with computer components adorn guestroom walls.
167 modern, streamlined hardwood floor rooms and suites accented with area rugs based on intricate tile patterns, and wall coverings mimic textured woven linen. Headboards offer full connectivity with plenty of outlets and ports to charge devices, as well as discreetly designed lighting. A second-level terrace features a heated pool, firepit and life-size games.
Hyatt Centric Mountain View was built to LEED Silver standards, with an emphasis on sustainable land use, resource conservation and waste minimization including comprehensive recycling, soap reuse and light touch cleaning based on guest request.
Hyatt Place Tokyo Bay opened on July 1 in Urayasu City in Chiba Prefecture, Japan.
It’s a 10-story hotel with 363 guestrooms and 3 suites. , 2,110 square feet (196 square metres).
“We are especially excited about this hotel opening as it marks the debut of the Hyatt Place brand in Japan, as well as the twenty-fourth Hyatt Place hotel in Asia,” said Sam Sakamura, vice president – Japan and Micronesia.
“Japan welcomed its first Hyatt-branded property in 1980 and Hyatt has since grown its brand presence to thirteen hotels across seven Hyatt brands in Japan, now including Hyatt Place Tokyo Bay.”

Earlier this year, it was announced, a Hyatt affiliate entered into a management agreement with CES Pirie Hotel (SA) Pty Ltd., an entity wholly owned by Chip Eng Seng Corporation Limited, to develop a new Hyatt Regency in Adelaide. The new 295-room hotel will mark the return of a Hyatt branded hotel to Adelaide, continuing Hyatt’s expansion in Australia. With construction planned to commence in early 2020, Hyatt Regency Adelaide is expected to open in early 2023.
