Burgers, Crepes, Slab Cakes and chimney donuts are the standouts in this little intersection of cafes near the Ritz. The family vibe behind the counter lures us in since its a family catchup. $9-$18 for dishes with juices and coffee makes for a great value proposition as its very likely one of us may need more than one meal!
On the Paul Street bend, this split level homely establishment buzzes in the early hours of Saturday morning. Much similarity in portion sizes seeing all three dishes are the same price – very satifying all round and despite mixed reviews, the coffee did its job in my opinion. All served on sourdough – salmon and haloumi, corn fritter are a great start to the morning. Experimenting with an additional dish, it was the Vegan item that surprised. Combining Quinoa, Tomato salsa, fried kale, fresh spinach, roasted pumpkin, avocado and beetroot hummus it was a very interesting journey of bitterness with fresh bursts of sweetness which I would have again.
