Technically you’re still in Chinatown but more on the edge well away from the action and this part of the block is Thaitown to be exact. Now if it’s cheap eats, snacks or a quick fix for the lunch you left at home because of the rush to work that this place has got your back.
Sticky rice lunch boxes with salad, chicken, fried pork are a convenient easy fill for any craving. But what makes this place so fun to visit are the random specials when these babies get marked down to $5 and at the counter they’ll place a selection of dumplings, skewers and other battered treats on a tray for you to pick at and pack at $1 a piece.
Glutenous Rice dumpling with pork, Vegetable spring rolls and (weird but surprisingly tasty) battered prawn dumplings. Occassionally fried donuts will turn up here and that container of green pandan you can see in this image behind the tray – that’s where the gold is at!
