New in Kellyville: XS Espresso – 5 things to try

Home » New in Kellyville: XS Espresso – 5 things to try

View my food journey on Zomato!

Spreading like wildfire across the Western Suburbs (and Bondi), the rich indulgence of the XS Espresso donut domed, fudge drizzled, lolly speckled shakes and desserts are becoming inescapable.  Having visited North Parramatta and Bondi since it’s opening, the consistency is impressive as each dish and glass of magic no matter where the location hits the note everytime.

Now that its in Kellyville, if your’e new to the concept try these five dishes to understand what all the fuss has been about since it opened and has won the Local Business Awards in two consecutive years.

CHEESEBURGER SPRING ROLLS:  changed the way we thought about comfort food and they came at a time when hybrid creations of pizza/burger/taco mashups started taking over the social tags of food porn.   After that everything changed, food challenges got bigger, customising and modifications to menu items became the standard and aesthetics became just as important as taste.

Play it safe with NEW YORK NEW YORK.  If all the bells and whistles are too much for you than experience the classics, because XS Espresso has those on offer too.  You’ll be well at home with a New York sirloin, local rocket, pecorino, hits of chilli, garlic lemon herb butter with a side of chips.  Only premium cuts from the local butcher are served here.

GREEN GNOCCHI:  The drenching of potato gnocchi in basil pesto is pimped with pure cream and crushed walnuts – the manifestation of richness synonymous with the XS concept.

You could just skip all the above and jump straight into the deep end with one of their most famous trademarks.  MAXIMESS as the name suggests is one hot mess of hazelnut and belgian chocolate topped with an ice cream sandwich, whipped cream, wafers and flakes.

THE PISTACCHIO would be the healthier option (yes it is a bit of a stretch, but stay with me) and is a great tribute to the ancient civilisations who have been consuming this Vitamin B-Oxidant rich compound since 7000 BC.  They’re low in calories and high in protein, aid with gut hut health (backed up by research) and have been suggested to assist in weight loss.

From the ones we have visited so far, the Kellyville site is the biggest offering a different kind of experience that caters more for a family in comparison to its sister sites.  Great service, massive spaces for groups and a must try destination full of guilty pleasures.
