RNB Swagger down under

We’ve been finding patterns in the styles of music when it comes to reverb nation.  Alot of metal bands coming out of Adelaide, Rock and Country in Perth and Darwin, Sydney and Melbourne with indie rock and pop while Queenslanders have a lot of really good RNB, Hip Hop rappers and groovers.  Here’s just some of the few across the country we’ve found:

(Flash is required if RN tracks do not appear)

Jimblah – Adelaide, SA

Winner of the Hilltop Hoods Award, Jimblah is an Indigenous producer/MC/writer from Adelaide, South Australia. Hailing from the Larrakia nation far north, he is influenced by a wide range of different Artists and genres, his main passion is hip hop. He has performed all over the country at various festivals and shows including Big day out, The dreaming and Good vibes, to name a few. He is no stranger to the stage. Jimblah has been hiding away in the his home studio creating his debut album, entitled, “Face the Fire”

Donna Heke – Golf Coast, QLD

Donna Heke is a Soulful Performer described by the Gold Coast Bulletin as “a soloing female sax player…singer saxophonist, blues harmonica player…a multitalented musician.” Behind the scenes for many years Donna has been a songwriter of R&B music and when Donna is not collaborating with fellow performing and recording artists, she can be found continuing to learn business, the music industry, and creating and listening to music.

Von Daddy – Melbourne, VIC

Von Voddy sure knows about work, rest, and too much play. The latter drives his soul, while the former is that which enjoyably or not, must always come first. T his is an inspired by grandeur, 20 something story teller with a severe weakness for the weekend mania, yet an unsettled desire to shape his own fate through hustle, beats and flow.

Luke Mansini – Brisbane, QLD

His music has stemmed from a keen ear and natural instinct, interpretation of lyric and emotion through soul.  A combination of unique, contemporary pop & soulful, melodic, acoustic influences.

Optamus – Perth, WA

Optamus with fellow Craigie High School classmate Shabaz founded Downsyde 1996. Followed by release/demo cassette “Behind the Bucket” & eventually went from strength to strength with releases ‘Land of The Giants, When The Dust Settles and All City’. Optamus and Shabaz met MC/Producer Dazastah at Leederville TAFE. The group added DJ Armee, Cheeky on bass guitar and keyboard as well as Hi-Hat on drums to form Downsyde as it is today. As well as being a skilled MC, Optamus is also a producer, producing beats for Downsyde, Hunter, Drapht, Bias B, Graphic, Bitter Belief and has just completed his solo album “Forever & A Day” .
