Want more?
You are in luck, because today, Nick & Femi launched ‘Uncovered with Nick and Femi’ – a new series with a focus on mental health! The boys from Blacktown will sit down with industry experts and celebrities to discuss their own experiences with mental health issues, be it personal or professional.
The boys have pre-recorded interviews with radio personality and the original Amazing Race winner Mel Grieg and the Hollywood Reporter himself, Richard Reid. Mel touches on the infamous Royal prank call and dealing with depression and anxiety that followed. Richard speaks to being openly gay in the entertainment industry and how he’s dealt with mental illness. Other guests in the pipeline include Former AFL player Tyler Roos, British Boxer Nigel Benn and Entrepreneur and General Assembly Founder Ryan Magdziarz.
The podcast will also feature stories from everyday people who have experienced mental illness themselves including those who have recovered from substance dependency, someone who’s lost a family member and walks the guys through her process of grief as well as someone who’s experienced homelessness and resultant mental health issues.
“Mental health is obviously something close to our hearts, given it’s been both of our careers. We’ve seen the devastated impact mental illness can bring to those suffering from one, as well as their loved ones.” said Nick.
“After doing the show, we wanted to create a platform that people can speak openly about mental health and remove the stigma.: added Femi, “Some of the stories you hear on the podcast will make you cry, while others will make you laugh. We want to help normalize some mental illnesses whilst raising important awareness for those more damaging ones.”
‘Uncovered with Nick and Femi’ is available to stream now.
