Keeping the Tiger Pie Alive 75 years later

As a dormant city shifts into a shell of uncertainty, some things are recognisable. It’s kind of like when your PC automatically goes into safe mode. All your software is there, but some applications don’t work due to safety reasons… Same here, Harry’s operates on a limited menu – no chips, no desserts and a rotating selection of pies from the usual.

The Tiger Pie is a major signature and on this ocassion, my usual Pepper Steak Pie is not available, but that’s cool, thought I’d switch it up and get my own Corona-fied ritual pie.

Chilli Curry Beef with that iconic heap of mash, peas and gravy. Still works a treat and as the first bite is taken with Chris Hemsworth’s watchful eye, the world seems right again.

Single order pies, hot dogs are available- no combo meals with chips and drinks available at this time. It’s comforting to know this place across from Capitol Theatre is still there to run to.
