Today’s musical journey begins in Lexington, Kentucky, where brothers Tanner and Peyton Whitt of Rags and Riches prepare to pump adrenaline into the veins of their fans with their new single Blood Runs Cold. Formed in 2017, Rags and Riches has gone from strength to strength since they landed on the music scene.
In February of 2019, the pop-rock duo released their debut single, Speed Of Sound. The song amassed success, hitting over 750,000 Spotify streams and over 520,000 Youtube views. The duo set out on their first headlining tour and spent a large portion of 2019 on the road. They showed no signs of regression as they kicked off an additional leg to their U.S. tour at the start of 2020. All of this action and excitement is seemingly a build up towards what Rags and Riches had in mind for Blood Runs Cold.
“Blood Runs Cold is something we had been working on for quite some time, but it couldn’t have been more relevant for the times we are living in,” shares vocalist Tanner Whitt. “Written from a teenager’s perspective who can’t seem to fit in anywhere. They find their niche and stand out by being true to who they are.”
Much like Tanner and Peyton, who have cultivated their unique sound, identity, and aesthetic over the last three years.
Blood Runs Cold is a musical experience. The meaningful lyrics and feel-good sounds break the wall between listener and music, transporting one into a different reality. The way one evisages this song is specific to the individual, but once you’ve been drawn in there is no way out. Why would you want a way out, anyway? Blood Runs Cold is three minutes of pure peace. Tanner and Peyton Whitt are groundbreaking visionaries of our time, reminding us of the value of finely cultivated music. The pleasure that this song provides is simply limitless.
Blood Runs Cold,” the latest single from Rags and Riches, will be available for streaming on all major platforms starting on Friday, April 24th.
