Auvers Cafe, Darling Square
Incorporating Darling Square into the exercise route during the allowed lockdown restrictions, there’s a sense of normality here. The large space from afar sees a mix of essential workers, open takeaway restaurants and exercising locals making it feel like less of the shell the rest of the city has become recently.
As a fan of Auvers – the new opportunity to try the DIY items is a great way to pass the time in lockdown while reminiscing of great taste sensations that hark back to a time many of us took for granted.
The sous vide meats are so easy to prepare require very minimal effort and providing restaurant quality meals at home even by the most incapable of home chefs. Microwave and pan frying in minutes is all that is needed for the Scotch Fillet, Beef Rendang and Chicken Breast.

Absolutely stunning interpretations of French and Japanese flavours in immaculately plated dishes! Delivering in spades, premium pulled slow cooked beef fills the gyoza (dumpling) coupled with a carrot puree and red bean!! Outrageous! But soooooo good!! .

The Crab Omelette is fluffy and potent with the bonito mayo and cheese. The popping bursts of sweet corn would have been made this the favorite had it not been for the towering Yuzu Soy Salmon Gateau with poached grapes, nori mayo and fresh fig. Divine and totally not what we were expecting for a Sunday brunch!
It’s a conscious play to please the cosmopolitan palate of Rhodes and it delivers!
