We did an experiment, putting the delivery guarantee to the test. For an extra $5, Domino’s at Pyrmont, guarantees your pizza within 15 minutes or for an extra $3 – they promise safe passage to you within 20. Ok Pyrmont, let’s play…..
If they don’t make it – you score the code to a free traditional pizza. There’s a live clock on the online tracker with the countdown and they even have to take a picture of it after its cooked which you can see in real time!
TIPS ON HOW TO SET UP YOUR DELIVERY DRIVER TO FAIL:
– Order your pizza during peak hour traffic and pray the guy is driving a car or at least cross your fingers that he’s not on a motorbike, because you don’t want him weaving through traffic on a push bike and get to your joint in time. We recommend a safe window period of delays in the surrounding streets between 4.45pm to 6.45pm thanks to the afternoon mess and regular visits from the parking police on Wattle Street and the ongoing construction on Jones. This is one reason to be thankful for the mess in our CBD caused by that new tramline diverting that valuable pizza free gold to our end of the city. Bonus if its a rainy day!!!!
– Add a serving of oven baked fries to your order. It’s only an extra $5 bucks and you’re shaving off at least a third of the guarantee time to your advantage. Frozen fries should take about 40 minutes to cook, so whatever Domino’s is doing to whip it up in 15 minutes including the delivery time, has to involve some kind of witchcraft, so ease your guilt and just do it! They is good tho, especially with that ranch dressing – spring for the extra dollar you can put it on anything! You’ll love it!
– Cushion your order with Churros or any chicken wing box they have (roasted or fried, doesn’t matter, chicken bites will work too!) just to be safe, you’ll have to invest a further $6.95 (it actually depends on the day). This is the final nail in their coffin setting them up and your insurance policy. The additional item puts the success of their 15 minute mission into more hands (kitchen staff) and work stations in the kitchen, increasing their risk of missing the deadline. It all depends on the chemistry and workflow their teams have.
Don’t bother with the sundaes or drinks, they do nothing to help, anyone can go to the fridge and dump a plastic bottle, cup or can in a bag – it takes like 5 seconds! Thankyou, next!
NOW SIT BACK AND RELAX:
and wait for that ticking time bomb in your favor to go off!
The Dominos LIVE online tracker is like watching those final moments of an E-bay auction – it can be quite thrilling almost as much as the footy grand final.
THE PIZZA AND SIDES FROM PYRMONT ARE ALWAYS SO GOOD:
Sometimes the grocery store is just too far away and complicated to deal with and the team at Domino’s Pyrmont will always be there for you during prescribed hours when everyone else won’t. The delivery drivers are also so friendly and the food transported intact and still hot! The new (I think it’s new) Reef, Steak and Bacon pizza is great no matter which crust you put on it. We’ve done them all if not most – original, cheesy (WIN) and garlic bread. Sharing these tricks with you does feel a bit off because it’s like stealing from a mate…
HOW KARMA COMES BACK FOR YOU:
Within 30 minutes of them failing to deliver your pizza on time, you would have received a special voucher code to apply on your next order.
Enjoy the moment folks, you’ve accomplished what many can only dream of!! Savour that feeling of fleeing the crime scene on that home stretch to enjoy your loot knowing no one can do anything about it!
Come next time when you order online, whack that code in there, order your pizza then hit “Continue”..
Relax, you’re almost there….
MORAL OF THE STORY:
Never try to cheat the system because the house always wins!
When you go to redeem your voucher for the free traditional pizza, you’ve still got to put down $21.40 for them to allocate a driver to your order! Yeh i know how you feel, it’s like that time we inherited $8 billion dollars when we found out we were friends with African royalty and had to pay for the Western Union transfer fees up front first to access the goods…. booooo.
Well played Pyrmont Domino’s.
Love you long time. See you tomorrow.
By pre-ordering your pizza, they’ll usually show up early when you’re first of the day!
