For starters, you have to get here quick. It’s an unassuming food court venue, and you shouldn’t underestimate it. The beef rendang discovered here over four years ago is what lures me in every single time a craving for Malaysian calls. It’s also served as a benchmark for the dish which I still rate higher than Hojiak and Papa Rich – whether you’re meant to have it this way or not, whatever cut of meat they use and it’s pure tenderness assumes the slow cook necessary to achieve such divinity isn’t being achieved at the other two places and is the reason why I’ve been let down when looking for alternative venues.
They always run out of Beef Rendang by 2pm.
Consistently.
Including their Liverpool Street restaurant.
What’s also great about this place when you’re forced to substitute or settle for second best, they deliver in spades with the sweet and sour pork and peanut style satay chicken! Two fail safes that delvier satisfyingly leaving the third choice to experimentation.
One of the best fast food lunches you will ever have! Send me the bill if you don’t agree!
