Garlo’s Pies (pronounced Gar-Lowes) are coming to selected Coles supermarkets in Victoria. A family owned NSW brand, Garlo’s Pies has been open for business since December 2001. Originally launching their first store on Anzac Parade Maroubra Junction, the Garlick family found success with their products and continued to open stores all around NSW.
Garlo’s Pies was founded by brothers Sean and Nathan Garlick along with their father Terry. The Garlick boys wanted to develop a pie that you could bite into and get a taste of the filling from the very first bite. Simply put, they were tired of eating pies that took 2 to 3 mouthfuls of pastry before you got to the good stuff! And so, the ‘Garlo’s Pie’ was born, named after the Garlick family nickname.
An all Australian owned and operated family business, Garlo’s Pies has 8 direct family members working in the business. Apart from the founders, father and sons Terry, Sean and Nathan Garlick, Sean’s sons Jackson (General Manager – and Bachelorette fame 2019) Bronson (Sales & Marketing Manager – and Newtown NSW Cup Rugby League player), Campbell (Business Development Manager – and keen golfer), Samantha Garlick (Key Account Manager), Dana Nipperess (Sean & Nathans sister and Terry’s Daughter – Garlo’s Bakery Café Manager.)
In 2009 a Coles executive approached Garlo’s, intent on securing a ‘truly local NSW pie’ supplier for their supermarket. After initial hesitation a trial began with a few Sydney stores and by mid-2010 the family business was supplying their goods to 200 Coles stores across NSW.
Garlo’s went from supplying by the box to supplying by the pallet although at the time a standard pallet couldn’t even fit through the doorways of their production facility.
Now Garlo’s Pies are well known for their delicious range of pies and sausage rolls that have a deliciously flaky pastry on top, a bottom that’s rolled extra thin and filling that’s bursting with flavour. For over 22 years Garlo’s has built a reputation for quality and taste. Garlo’s Pies are made using premium quality beef and are available in a range of flavours that include Beef Pie, Curry Beef Pie, Chunky Steak Pie, Lean Beef Family Pie, and Sausage Roll. And, you can find them in the chilled foods section of your local Coles supermarket (participating stores only).
